CHILE MOLE POZOLE
30 copy edition screenprinted collage illustrated book 12,5 x 21 cm - 2019
Collaboration with Toil Press - collage artist Jay Berrones.
"Chile mole pozole" is a spanish colloquialism employed to describe the result of a variety of elements that weren’t necessarily intended to end up together. In other words, a sort of divine and satisfactory confusion. Serendipity.
The book Chile Mole Pozole is a visual recount of a serendipitous meeting illustrated through the medium of collage and screen printing. The visuals are a guide through the happenstance days and events of the meeting of two artists. One Italian on residency in Bogotà. One American coming from Mexico. The intention can be better interpreted in viewing the book as the message. Serendipitous meetings lead to an invigoration for making art and solving problems as team to accomplish a goal.
